QYO Concerts - Overview

 

QYO presents Symphony Concerts, Chamber Music Concerts, Concert at Twilight, Wind Orchestra Concerts and Big Band Performances in Brisbane, Queensland and Australia.

 

Queensland Youth Symphony QYS

QYO’s leading orchestra, the Queensland Youth Symphony (QYS), performs in the QYS 2012 Concert Series at the Old Museum and QPAC Concert Halls in Brisbane.

 

Symphony Orchestras

QYO’s three Symphony Orchestras (QYS, QYO2 and QYO3), as well as the Junior String Ensemble (JSE), perform classical music and selected arrangements of film music and popular music.

 

Wind Orchestras and Big Band

QYO Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble choose there repertoire from Wind Orchestra music, Wind Band and Symphonic Band music, as well as arrangements of film music. The QYO Big Band focusses on popular tunes for Big Band.

 

Concert at Twilight series

All QYO orchestras perform regularly in the Concert at Twilight Series at the Old Museum Concert Hall, and in the QYO Finale Concert at the QPAC Concert Hall at the end of each year.
