Happy Birthday John Curro!

QYO founder and QYS Conductor John Curro AM MBE celebrated his 85th birthday while on tour in Germany with the Queensland Youth Symphony.

John's birthday morning was spent in rehearsal with the orchestra, preparing for a concert that evening at the Church of the Cross in Bonn, Germany (their first performance since arriving in Germany).

While rehearsing Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra, the orchestra had a surprise for their conductor, inserting a Happy Birthday at bar 41.

The birthday celebrations concluded with a wonderful concert where the orchestra received a standing ovation. Happy Birthday John Curro!
