The 2020 QYS Concert series opens with Ravel’s tribute to the Viennese Waltz, described by the composer as “a sort of apotheosis of the Viennese waltz…mingled with, in my mind, the impression of a fantastic, fatal whirling.”

We welcome Irit Silver, Principal Clarinet of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, as the soloist in Mozart’s sublime clarinet concerto, voted sixth in the top 100 concertos by ABC Classic FM listeners.

And then to Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances, his last work and an enduring masterpiece.
