Join us for a powerful and uplifting start to the 2018 series. The QYS percussion ensemble opens the concert before the whole orchestra joins the Brisbane Chorale and soprano Madeline Gibbs to perform Poulenc’s celebrated Gloria. Extraordinary young pianist Jeremy Sun appears as soloist in Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3, followed by Respighi’s vivid portrayals of Rome where we journey through the pine groves of Villa Borghese, a Catacomb and Janiculum Hill before a Roman legion marches triumphantly along the Appian Way into the eternal city.
