Chamber Ensembles Concert at Twilight

Congratulations to composers Richard Sanderson and Alexander Voltz, whose new works were performed at our first Chamber Ensembles concert for 2018.

The concert opened with the Trois Graces Trio (Ellie Harrison, viola; Linley Chai, harp; and Anna Coe, flute) performing Alexander's composition The Fate of Arachne. QYS members Kyle Brady (viola) and Cameron Fuller (cello) followed with Beethoven's Eyeglass Duo for Cello and Viola. Newly formed trio, Triumvirate (Elizabeth Simmers, viola; Alexander Voltz, viola; and Thomas Crilly, double bass) made their debut with a beautiful performance of Hummel's String Trio in G Major.

The evening concluded with the world premiere of Quartet for Low Brass by featured composer Richard Sanderson. The work was performed by Ming Liu (trombone), Sean Burke (tuba), John Rotar (trombone) and Richard Sanderson (trombone).

Thank you to our volunteers Lachlan Griffith, Chris & Nancy Elvin, Nikhil Deo, Tanya Jones and Jaidyn Chong - and our Chamber Music Coordinator Nicky Griffith for programming a wonderful repertoire of music.
